Cameron Park Community Services District, in partnership with the Cameron Park Rotary, Cameron Park Community Foundation and the Shingle Springs / Cameron Park Chamber of Commerce presented the Community Services Showcase and Luau at the Pool tonight at the Cameron Park Community Center.
El Dorado Disc Sports was invited to participate in the Showcase in order to introduce community members to disc golf and talk about the proposed 18-hole course in Cameron Park. The Community Center is next to Camerado Springs Middle School where a youth 9-hole disc golf course is located for the kids to play as part of their PE curriculum and the community can play outside of school hours. Great conversation and support for the course were the order of the day, including older adults and children tossed discs into portable baskets and developed an enthusiasm for the sport we all love.
More details coming soon regarding the course, opportunities to volunteer, sponsor and get to get your hands dirty installing some baskets. For additional details, or to add your name to the volunteer list, please send an email to sharonkeoppel@eddiscsports.org.
